GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

Government Relations is one of NADP's primary areas of expertise. NADP tracks state and federal legislation that directly impacts the dental benefits industry. The GRC (Government Relations Commission), a group made up of volunteers from member companies, directs staff in determining appropriate advocacy and lobbying efforts on legislative and regulatory issues.  In 2009, the NADP Health Care Reform Task Force was appointed by the NADP board to analyze and make recommendations on federal health reform.

NADP Members and their affiliates have access to LOTS (Legislative Online Tracking System), a searchable database of the current dental plan specific legislation on NADP's radar screen.  LOTS is updated daily and accessible via the NADP Web site. NADP offers a government relations forum in its e-Community where members can discuss best practices and share complex compliance questions. Also available is the State Law Portal which summarizes how dental plans are defined in easch state.  

NADP has additional consultants to assist in covering all aspects of government relations affecting our members. NADP works with interested stakeholders and fellow trade associations to ensure a wide base of support and understanding of the issues impacting dental plans today.
