CMS Releases Medicaid Managed Care Proposed Rule 

Wednesday, March 3, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a proposed rule for Medicaid Program; Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Managed Care Access, Finance, and Quality. CMS says the rule “proposed rule would advance CMS’ efforts to improve access to care, quality and health outcomes, and better address health equity issues for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) managed care enrollees.”  There are sections in the proposed rule that could be relevant to dental insurers regarding Medicaid and CHIP managed care, state-directed payments, reporting requirements, and medical loss ratio.
