During the opening session of the 2022 Leadership Conference, NADP honored Director of Meetings & Events Jeremy May with a staff longevity award, celebrating 10 years of service to the association.

Over the past month as state legislatures reconvene there have been numerous dental legislations introduced.

On Dec. 30, the Department of Labor (DoL) issued guidance on the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021 which clarifies the inclusion of standalone dental plans in the group market requirements for covered service provider and broker fee disclosures.

NADP provided comments to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on the proposed rule “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; HHS Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters for 2023 (CMS-9911-P)”, which would introduce new network adequacy requirements for standalone dental plans (SADPs) and medical Qualified Health Plans (QHPs) participating on marketplace platforms, increase disclosures for downstream entities, and make other changes that effect dental coverage.

NADP provided comments to the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on the Georgia Section 1332 Waiver known as the “Georgia Access Model.

Last week NADP kicked off the year with the 2022 Leadership Conference in Dallas where volunteer leaders gathered to offer additional feedback on the Strategic Plan, including the High-Level Initiatives (HLIs) and their operational plans.

In July NADP published the 2021 State Legislative Wrap-up after most state legislatures adjourned. In addition, NADP continued to represent our members on various key issues over the summer and fall.
